Hayssen Flexible Systems Buys Schib Packaging
U.S.-based packaging equipment maker Hayssen Flexible Systems has purchased Italy’s Schib Packaging S.r.l, a producer of horizontal flow-wrapping machines as well as automatic feeders and automated wrapping systems.
“The addition of Schib Packaging increases Hayssen Flexible Systems’ range of packaging machinery solutions to better support global customer needs now and in the future,” said Hayssen’s president Mike May. “By leveraging the combined experience and knowledge of our teams, we are confident the Schib product line will immediately impact our global footprint in the wrapper marketplace as we continue to build lasting relationships providing trusted flexible packaging solutions.”
The terms of the deal have not been announced.
Founded in 1968, Schib Packaging provides packaging solutions for diverse industries from food sectors such as candy, biscuit and bakery to non-food sectors including personal care, household items, and industrial components. Tecla Schizzarotto, former owner and daughter of the founder, will continue to lead the business from Italy, Hayssen said.
Hayssen is headquartered in Duncan, S.C., and has manufacturing and technology centres in the U.S., the UK, and Italy. The company is a member of the Barry-Wehmiller packaging automation group.
